Astronomical Random Friday 10

I found it interesting when Zune pulled up three straight tracks with a decidedly astronomical feel to them.  Then I found it less interesting when I noticed that shuffle had been disabled and it was playing tracks in alphabetical order, so I eventually turned shuffle back on, but continued with the theme:

  1. Alien Hip Hop” – Planet X, Quantum
  2. “Alien Earth” – Synergy, The Jupiter Effect
  3. All About Satellites and Spaceships” – Seven Percent Solution, All About Satellites and Spaceships
  4. “All Around the World or Myth of Fingerprints” – Paul Simon, Graceland
  5. “All of the Above: Full Moon Rising/October Winds/Camouflaged in Blue/Half Alive/Undying Love/Full Moon Rising Reprise” – Transatlantic, SMPTe
  6. Edge of the World” – John Scott, Greystoke: Legend of Tarzan soundtrack
  7. “Oh Brother” – James Taylor, New Moon Shine
  8. The Great Gig in the Sky” – Pink Floyd, The Dark Side of the Moon
  9. Under the Moon” – Camel, Harbour of Tears
  10. “Ride of Your Life” – Rick Wakeman, Return to the Centre of the Earth

Have an out-of-this-world weekend, and happy Father’s Day!

Pop! Goes the Friday Random 10

Well, I set WMP to the “Pop” genre, but I’m not sure I agree with all these songs’ designations; may have to do some adjusting…

  1. Water is Wide” – James Taylor, New Moon Shine
  2. “One of Our Submarines” – Thomas Dolby, The Golden Age of Wireless
  3. “Under African Skies” – Paul Simon, Graceland
  4. Strawberry Letter 23” – The Brothers Johnson, Right on Time
  5. “True Colours” – Go West, Aces and Kings: The Best of Go West
  6. “Sex Symbol” – Marc Jordan, Living in Marina Del Rey and Other Stories

  10. Walk on the Ocean” – Toad the Wet Sprocket, PS: A Toad Retrospective

Toad the Wet Sprocket is one of those groups I never appreciated at the time but enjoy now.  And Vitamin Z was a great 80’s pop group that never quite got off the ground.
