An Excuse To Quote Dr. Strangelove

Ryan H. has been hiding out some Twins trade bait over at “O” No!!! Another Orioles Blog, it appears. To paraphrase Dr. Strangelove: “Of course, the whole point of a Doomsday Machine Twins trade bait is lost if you keep it a secret! Why didn’t you tell the world, EH?

Why, indeed? Well, a little snooping at his blog and the gig was up. Ryan put together a nice package (see some below) and I was able to counter by putting a few Orioles cards in a better place.

Thanks! And advertise that trade bait a little better, dude. 😉

“O” No!!! Another Lame Trade Post Title

Ryan from “O” No!!! Another Orioles Blog sent me an email to bounce a trade off me, which I was more than happy to entertain. While I was piecing together some of the cards on his wantlists, his package arrived here with a slew of Twins. The lion’s share were Bowman singles from several years (I’ve said it before: I don’t entirely get Bowman), as well as various other brands. Time to hit my LCS for some more wantlist items, it appears.

Interestingly, I received the non-Atomic Refractorized Todd Walker preview card just last week. Did you leave this card in your window for a few years, Ryan? Todd looks a little washed out. Thankfully I had this waldo on site so as to avoid the radiation.

Thanks, Ryan — your return package is being built even as we speak.

An F-Bomb, Et al.

William at foul bunt and I have had a mini-trade in the works for quite some time, but he continually used lame excuses like “moving” 😉 to delay actually pulling the trigger. I think what was really happening was remorse over handing over this jersey card of F-Bomb:

And a second package that arrived here was from my third trade to a trader from SportsCardFun.com. Red Sox Prospector had several Twins cards, and for the cards I sent him he sent in return several Bowman cards, some Topps Finest, and some Topps Gold, among others.

I Drank The Orange Kool-Aid; It Was Good!

While checking out dgreen1899’s trade bait page at Drinking The Orange Kool-Aid, I spotted three Twins auto cards for trade. After a few emails back and forth, some ’71 Phillies, a Topps Silk card, and a slew of Gypsy Queen Orioles and Phillies were on their way in exchange for the auto cards, a Bazooka Red Chunk, and several “mystery cards”. Well, dgreen1899 did good; there was a really nice variety of Donruss, Fleer, and Topps cards, including several Justin Morneau Generation Now singles.
