A Larger Lap

Every now and then, some fine Twins cards fall in my lap that have sane prices or are obtainable via trade. More often than not, though, they pop up at Baseball Plus, my LCS here, either from box breaks or other collectors bringing them by to sell or trade. Mark, the owner, knows to keep an eye out for Twins cards that I’m not likely to have, and he sells them to me at ridiculously reasonable prices.

Just this week he had a nice pile he’d set aside for me, and it was a microcosm of what I’m talking about. There were a few of this year’s Heritage singles I needed, a few Bowman doubles, Topps series 2, and these:

A buyback card! An AU! Serial #’d premium cards! A printing plate (my 4th), for God’s sake! How cool is that?!

Oh, and a few GU from recent trades/bidding:

  1. ok, what is the deal with the throwing arm on Alex Meyer’s card? That looks seriously weird.
