Snow White And The Seven Packages

While on our Disney World vacation, seven packages arrived for me (they always arrive when I’m away from home). Before showing the trade packages, I thought I’d display a couple of the new Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom cards that are now being given out at locations in the Magic Kingdom. Each day, a person can pick up a pack of 5 random cards, which can be used solo or in combination at numerous sites throughout the park to defeat a villain in an attempt to complete a mission. The set contains 70 cards, the last 10 being short printed. We never did play the game, but between the three of us we managed to get 40 of the first 60 cards, with several duplicates that I hope to trade to complete the set.

Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom #34 “Snow White’s Housecleaning”; Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom #03 “Buzz Lightyear’s Astro Blaster”

Package #1 came from a trade with Dennis at Pictures of Men for a Vernon Wells GU card and some 2012 and other Blue Jays cards.

2010 Topps Chrome Blue Refractor #98 Francisco Liriano [146/199]; 2010 Topps Chrome Refractor #188 Alex Burnett [352/499] (auto)

Package #2 arrived from Nachos Grande, where I finally sent a Barry Larkin GU and some other Reds cards to a better place, in exchange for some Twins cards he was stuck with from his last group break.

Package #3 was the first of four packages from trades generated at Sports Card Arena, this one from T-206. These are a sampling of what I got in return for some Sandberg, Gwynn, and Puckett cards.

Hardy; 2011 Topps Triple Threads #3 Bert Blyleven [1253/1500]; 2011 Topps Triple Threads Sepia #3 Bert Blyleven [363/625]; 2011 Topps Gold #281 Kevin Slowey [0708/2011]

Package #4 doesn’t really count; it was an eBay purchase to replace a card that I traded as part of…
Package #5, another Sports Card Arena trade. devintolly is a Justin Morneau collector, and I happened upon him on a Sunday night chat session. When he saw my 2011 A&G relic in a recent post, it started up a trade which ultimately sent several Morneau cards to Devin that he needed in exchange for the four cards below. I’m sure I have several more Morneaus that will make their way to him in a future trade someday, too.

And the last two packages deserve their own posts. Thanks for the trades, everyone!

  1. That Guzman card is cropped just enough we can’t do a CSI:D on it.

Do you have any other candidates for another episode?

  2. Nice pick-ups! I’m slowly building up my collection of Twins RC AUs, and I think Burnett’s one of the guys I’m still chasing.
