A “Fair” Bit of Twins Trading

In trading with the great collectors throughout the blogosphere (you know who you are) and browsing the local card shop, I had picked up quite a slew of Twins doubles.  Knowing that the county fair back home has a baseball card booth, and knowing we would be heading up to God’s Country to the fair this year, I decided to organize my cards and pack them for the trip.

Of course the Twins cards there were way overpriced, but my cards were given a comparable trade value, and the selection was good.  I picked up some refractors, memorabilia, parallels, and other assorted niceties.

clockwise, from top left: 2007 Topps Chrome Refractor #220 Jason Kubel; 2007 Upper Deck Spectrum Swatches Gold #SSW-JN Joe Nathan [51/75]; 2007 Topps Finest Refractor #128 Joe Nathan; 2005 Topps Bowman Draft Picks Gold #BDP121 Francisco Liriano

I also picked up three cards I already had (d@mn these wantlists!) but I know good homes for them.

clockwise, from top left: 2002 Topps Bowman Draft Picks #BDP155 Justin Morneau; 2007 Upper Deck Heroes Green #100 Justin Morneau [402/499]; 2007 Upper Deck Goudy Heads Up #288 Justin Morneau; 2009 Upper Deck Legendary Cuts #33 Justin Morneau

Shoulda jumped at the 1999 Topps Chrome Cuddyer, though.

clockwise, from top left: 2005 Upper Deck All-Star Classics #65 Joe Mauer; 2007 Upper Deck SPx Winning Materials Dual Silver #WM-JM Joe Mauer [13/50]; 2009 Topps Ticket to Stardom Perforated Edge #25 Joe Mauer; 2007 Upper Deck Goudey #62 Joe Mauer

Meantime, guess I need to start compiling trade material for next year…

  1. Nice loot dude! I’m trying to do the same thing with an Ohio cardshop near my girlfriend’s parents’ house – too bad I haven’t had time to hit the place up any of the last few times we visited!
