Mr. Scott Springs a Cr@pload

While still recovering from two other recent trades, a hardcover-sized box arrived, chock-full of Twins cards. A veritable cr@pload of Twinsaphernalia, and the return address was from Mr. Scott.

Mr. Scott collects Yankees cards (he’s working on his Phil Hughes wantlist), but as the virtual neighborhood of collectors knows, you never hold a person’s collection against them.  So Mr. Scott has my condolences, but I am more than happy to swap some collectables with him.

clockwise, from top left: 2002 Upper Deck Victory #197 Denny Hocking, throwback uni from the looks of it; 2008 Topps Stadium Club Beam Team Autograph #BTA-MTO Matt Tolbert; 2006 Bowman Draft Picks Gold #BDP19 Jason Kubel; 2008 Upper Deck Documentary #1663 (MIN53) Joe Nathan – if someone tosses a complete game (Kevin Slowey, in this case), you KNOW Joe Nathan wasn’t in the game

Although a goodly percentage of the cards were duplicate base set cardboard (which was part of Mr. Scott’s master plan to clear out space for the 2010’s coming in), a nice chunk of my wantlist items were hit, including a nice Stadium Club Beam Team Tolbert auto and…2008 Upper Deck Documentary! Sixteen new home games (of which the Twins had a 10-6 record on them) all with photos and headlines as screwed up as the rest.

clockwise, from top left: 1996 Sportflix #12 Marty Cordova; 2003 Topps Gallery #107 A.J. Pierzynski; 2009 Topps Unique #98 Denard Span – DSPAN2!; 2006 Topps 52 #83 Willie Eyre – Groundskeeper Willie!

Now’s your chance — Mr. Scott is still looking to clear out space, so drop him a line. Meanwhile, I have a bunch of unusual Yankees collectibles to get to the post office. Not a cr@pload, but I know there’s some stuff he doesn’t have.

  1. That Denny Hocking card is awesome. Love that uni.

  2. Is it weird that AJ in a Twins uni just looks wrong now?
